Father's Day: 10 Memorable Fictional Fathers

To celebrate Father's Day this Sunday (June 21st) here's a look at 10 loving and inspiring fictional fathers. Some are men, some are even women. Some are old, some are young. Some are biological and a few are surrogate. Some are crazy scientists and several are super spies. But especially, every one of these men have one passion in their lives and that is their children. They might stop real people on the other hand love and devotion reminds us why we love to our Fathers a great deal. (Warning: It does contain spoilers about some movies/television shows)
1.) Jack Bristow, ALIAS (played by Victor Garber)

Jack Bristow is not a textbook father in any respect. He is usually a spy with the CIA and spent almost all of his daughter's childhood away ahead secret espionage missions. Because of him, his daughter has also been sucked to the same dangerous occupation. But the minute you meet Jack you realize his entire every day life is defined by a very important factor - his daughter, Sydney Bristow. He visits jail for my child, kills people to be with her, exposes himself to deadly nuclear radiation on her and in the final blows himself up -- all just to save his daughter. He might 't be winning the Nobel Peace Prize soon, but he gets my vote for that most kick-ass dad.
2.) Sam Dawson, I AM SAM (played by Sean Penn)

Sam Dawson will often have the mental equivalency of your 7 years old, but despite the many challenges that life throws at him he successfully seems to singlehandedly raise his daughter, Lucy. Unfortunately society isn't going to make it easy for Sam and like his expereince of living, fatherhood is sold with many trials and turbulations. He is constantly tested with the system and possesses to fight endlessly becoming a part of his child's life. But Sam's love and devotion for his daughter is not waivered. In the tip, Sam Dawson does get his daughter back because nobody can deny the purity of his passion for his daughter.
3.) Guido Orefice, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL (played by Roberto Benigni)

Guido has a smile on his face it doesn't matter what life throws at him. He is a fairly easy man, who loves his wife and his awesome son. But Guido's true test as being a father comes when he, regarding his wife and son are taken up a Nazi concentration camp through the Holocaust. After getting separated from his wife, Guido hides his son in order to prevent them from taking him away. To protect his 4 1/2 years old son, Joshua, on the horrors from the concentration camp, Guido convinces him which the whole thing is often a game show the location where the first person to acquire 1000 points wins an aquarium. He devotes every last bit in the energy she has left to maintaining the storyline and being confident that there is always a smile on his son's face.
4.) Atticus Finch, TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD (played by Gregory Peck)

Atticus Finch is the ideal role model any child could ever obtain in a father. He may n't have magical powers or save the planet from apocalypse, but he is really a hero in most way. He is really a lawyer plus a single father raising his two children - Scout and Jem. He is ab muscles ideal of courageous, kind, respectable and moral. His shining quality you know in the advice he gives his daughter "You never really understand an individual until you consider things from his standpoint, and soon you climb on the inside of his skin and walk around in it". The most important lesson he teaches his children will be fair, open-minded, judicious and generous neighbors and citizens. Atticus holds up and fights for is right and noble, and this makes him superman.
5.) Chris Gardner, THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS (played by Will Smith)

Chris Gardner is really a smart salesman that produces one mistake that ultimately ends up shattering his whole world. A wrong investment breaks his family and bankrupts Chris. He winds up on the trail with no money with no future but 100% invested in his son Christopher. Chris struggles everyday to rebuild his life with the exceptional career. He juggles an increased stakes internship for any new career to be a stock broker and fatherhood as well and excels at both. There are many heartbreaking days when he could be barely competent to provide food his son and in many cases days if they are homeless and possess to sleep in subway restrooms and office cubicles. But regardless of happens, Chris' devotion to his son never falters. He had never known his father thereby makes sure that regardless of what happens he or she is always seen in his son's life. Chris Gardner can be quite a great rags to riches story but beyond everything, he or she is another inspirational father who had been always there for his child.
6.) Daniel Hillard or Mrs. Doubtfire, MRS. DOUBTFIRE (played by Robin Williams)

Daniel Hillard might stop a successful voice actor but he absolutely adores his 3 children. When his marriage fails with the exceptional wife gets primary custody of his kids and his awesome visitation is reduced to Saturday nights only, Daniel does the sole thing he can -- turns into a woman. He goes thru a very arduous routine and transforms himself to a woman to apply for any job like a housekeeper to have an ex-wife. As Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel is capable of see his children everyday and stay the father he was never competent to before.
7.) Heathcliff Huxtable, THE COSBY SHOW (played by Bill Cosby)

Cliff Huxtable was a really cool dad in most way. He not merely provided for his family but he was always there for his wife along with their 5 children. No matter what they did right or wrong, Cliff was always there along with his always humorous and helpful advice. He is the type of man you take a look at and go, "I wish my Dad was prefer that!" He is constantly encouraging his children to achieve their maximum potential and overcome whatever curve ball comes their way. Mr. Huxtable is usually a hands-on dad, who parents which has a sense of humor and a few tough love.
8.) Mufasa, THE LION KING (played by James Earl Jones)

Who wouldn't want their dad to become King? Mufasa is often a strong, regal, wise and fair King for the animals within his kingdom. He is besides a good King, but an incredible father to his son, Simba. He teaches Simba to become fair, patient and respectful for some other animals. When his evil, jealous and deceitful brother tries to kill Simba, Mufasa sacrifices himself and falls to his death, saving his son.
9.) Danny Tanner, Joey Gladstone and Jesse Katsopolis, FULL HOUSE (played by Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and John Stamos )

Danny Tanner's wife passes away in a very car accident and they are left using the responsiblity of raising his 3 young daughters. He enlists the assistance of his companion Joey and brother-in-law Jesse to increase D.J, Stephanie and Michelle. They learn because they do and they also don't always understand it properly on the first try nevertheless they never stop trying. They are 100% devoted on the girls.
10.) Dr. Walter Bishop, FRINGE (played by John Noble)

Dr. Walter Bishop is often a brilliant scientist but a mishap puts him overboard and lands him inside a mental instituition for 17 years. He is released years later by his only son Peter, who he does not have much of your relationship with. After each of the years inside mental instituition Walter may well not remember all of it or have all of it his bearings under control but there is the one thing he is sure of - his passion for his son. The more you're able to know Walter, it becomes clear that he did the vast majority of it for Peter - including bringing him back check here again from an alternative world after he died. Yes, sounds confusing but regardless of how crazy Walter may very well be, he loves his son.
